What is CASS Family Day Care (CFDC)?

CASS Family Day Care is an approved child care service. It is an approval community based Scheme run by non-profit organization. It arranges quality care services for young children in the homes of registered educators. It also provides training and supervision to registered educators. All CFDC educators are selected, trained and monitored by professional staff under government regulations.


Who can use it?

The service is available to families within Sydney Metropolitan Region. It is designed for children between the ages of 0-5, but is also open to children attending primary school who need care before and after school hours or during school holidays.


Options of care

l        Provide flexible FDC services to meet families’ needs

l        Minimum of 8 hours per day

l        Long day care, before and after school hour care, occasional care, weekend care and vacation care


Number of children

Each CFDC educator can care for up to 4 children between the ages of 0-5 and up to 7 children between the ages of 0-12 at any one time (including the educator’s own children).



Fees are set on an hourly basis at current rates. Families using our Family Day Care Service are eligible for Child Care Benefit (CCB) and may be able to receive Child Care Rebate (CCR).


Who are CFDC educators?

All CFDC educators are carefully selected and are under on-going supervision by our professional staff. They provide quality child care according to National Quality Standard. They can speak English, Chinese or Vietnamese. All CFDC educators need:

l        To participate in an educator orientation training course

l        To undergo a Home Safety Check

l        To undertake a Working with Children Check

l        To have a First Aid Certificate

l        To undertake anaphylaxis & emergency asthma management training

l        To have insurance cover

l        To participate in ongoing training

CASS was founded in 1981 and is a registered charitable organisation. Its main service objective is to provide a wide range of welfare services to the community, assisting migrants to settle and integrate into the Australian society.
